Teaching Methods

All Arts Canterbury Dance courses include classes in technique, theory and composition. The ballet curriculum is based on an amalgamation of three existing syllabi:

  • Cecchetti
  • R.A.D.
  • Vaganova

The modern component of the program includes classes based in many styles including the José Limon, Martha Graham and Lester Horton techniques. In both dance forms, students will learn about the principles as well as the history behind their development. Also, as enrichment, students will experience workshops in various other forms such as contact dance, hip hop, african dance etc. Upon graduation, students are well prepared for post secondary education in dance or pre-professional training.
